In order to maintain unbiased content and avoid conflicts of interest, Symbyos does not accept advertisements or compensation from manufacturers or product vendors in exchange for generation of content, or promotion of products or services. The site is completely supported through the community of members who support patient rights to be fully informed about their dental needs and treatment options.

All material on ToothIQ is produced by Symbyos, and is based on actual dental clinical experience and thorough reviews of the current dental professional literature. Emphasis is given to international, peer-reviewed professional journals that publish findings of original research, and studies whose funding sources are clearly identified, so that biases may be revealed. On controversial issues, an effort is made to present findings from all sides of the argument, with a bias toward non-industry-sponsored studies presenting the best long-term, evidence-based conclusions.

Any authors, editors, or contributors to the informative dental content presented on ToothIQ are required to disclose and give written evidence of their professional credentials, industry sponsorships and affiliations (or an affidavit of non-affiliation) to Symbyos before their material is considered for publication on ToothIQ.

ToothIQ is reviewed on a periodic basis by a panel of dental professionals chosen by Symbyos. Symbyos is seeking this distinction voluntarily. Review board members receive voluntary recognition of their contribution and a complementary membership to ToothIQ. No other compensation is offered.

Symbyos reserves the right to cite references at its sole discretion, but under no circumstances will it produce or publish content in exchange for endorsements.

Symbyos does not have control over and is not responsible for the advertising policies of web sites it does not own or maintain.
