Cement

A material used by dentists to attach crowns, inlays and onlays to teeth. Unlike "glue", crown cements don't generally get their holding power from adhesive strength ("stickiness"). Instead, they fill the gap between the roughened tooth surface and roughened internal surface of the dental restoration, and then set to a very hard consistency (like cement). The cement has a very high shear strength, which prevents the crown, inlay or onlay from being easily removed.
