A condition in which the teeth never form. Generally, this applies to the primary teeth (also called "baby teeth" or "deciduous teeth") as well as the permanent teeth. Unlike edentulism, where the teeth were once present but were lost or removed, patients with anodontia never get teeth. This condition is usually inherited, and is common in patients with "Hypohydrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia."
